Due to the impact of Covid-19 this year’s conference in Christchurch has been cancelled. We look forward to next year and hosting another foundry conference.
11th December 6pm
Meet 5.45pm at Mainline Steam,
Hamilton Jet’s Gate 5, Lunns Rd, Middleton
Mainline Steam is an organisation devoted to the restoration and operation of historic mainline steam locomotives.
The Christchurch depot has several resident steam trains & carriages at various stages of restoration, redesign & rebuild. Come & spend an evening with enthusiastic enthusiasts, hear stories & histories of the trains, their previous lives, owners, drivers & firemen. And yes, there are castings, many castings!!!
Mike at the depot has kindly offered to guide us through their interestingly varied array.
A great treat for all !!
The tour will start at 6pm, followed by supper & refreshments. Kindly sponsored by Metcast Services Limited, thanks Gordon!!
See you there for a glimpse of the achievements of industrial man.
Missing a train is only painful if you run after it & If a train doesn't stop at your station, then it's not your train.

In fact World Heritage Listed, Old Government House where we will be holding our President’s Reception, was built over the period 1799-1820 and was the preferred home of our early Colonial Governors.
